High Temperature Ferritic Stainless Steel

Lower-alloyed ferritic grades are used for temperatures between 550 °C and 850 °C, where most austenitic stainless steels are prone to form brittle phases.

High-temperature ferritic stainless steels are primarily used in high-temperature applications with sulfurous atmospheres and low tensile loads, such as component parts for furnaces, the chemical industry, the power industry, and steam boiler parts.
