The vision of the Acroni steel company, from the Slovenian Steel Group (SIJ), is that all of its key laboratories for determination of steel properties acquire accreditation according to the SIST EN ISO/IEC 17 025:2005 standard, since it provides additional trust in results and the official recognition that the laboratories are competent to carry out the activity.
The chemical laboratory first acquired the accreditation in the field of wastewater on 3 September 2004 and expanded it to the field of leach and steel analysis by XRF in 2009. This year, it was joined by the mechanical laboratory. At Acroni, the recognition was expanded to the determination of mechanical properties of steels – tensile tests at room temperature and an impact toughness test according to the Charpy method within a temperature range of -60°C to +100°C. Thus, the objectives set regarding the expansion of accreditation were realized completely and the company is convinced that, from now on, it will be able to market its services even more successfully.
