Along many European companies that exhibit every year, an increasing number of non-European, mostly Asian companies attended the fair. Considering the fact that the conference takes place at the end of the year, the majority of exhibitors and participants use this event to review mutual cooperation with business partners in the previous year and conclude agreements for the future.
Acroni steel company from Slovenia together with its subsidiary Acroni Italy, both operating within SIJ - Slovenian Steel Group, attended the exhibition this year for the second, which has proven as very successful. Numerous visitors came to Acroni's exhibition stand; many talks with existing and potential buyers took place. Due to the economic crisis, this year was a very difficult year for the producers and also for stainless steel buyers. The consumption scope reduced significantly, many investments were stopped or postponed. A major part of the buyers entered the year 2009 with large amounts of material stock in their warehouses, therefore in the first and partly also in the second quarter of the year they bought only as much as they needed. Traders and service centres will be more careful at implementing purchases, since they do not want to create large amounts of stock in this uncertain market situation. We all want for a more stable year without major price oscillations on the market, which will mostly depend on the movement of nickel price.
