Cold Formed Sections

Cold formed sections are shaped from hot rolled strips in the following steel groups:

  • non-alloyed structural steels – EN 10025 (S 235 JR…)
  • structural steels with lower sulphur content – EN 10025 (S355J2G3…)
  • alloyed structural steel -  SEW 092 (S 380MC…)
  • weathering steels (Jekor 350…)
  • austenitic stainless steels-  EN 10 088 (X5CrNi18-10,X6CrNiMoTi 17-12-2)

Production program

Standard forms of sections:

Thickness: 2 – 6 mm
Length:
  • standard: 6 m
  • max. 16 m

For standard forms of cold formed sections the tolerances prescribed by EN 10 162 are valid.

The certification is issued according to EN 10 204 (chemical composition, mechanical properties)

Non-standard forms of profiles

They are produced according to customer request, joint development and dimension and final approval of tolerances.
Various profile forms suits individual requirements in construction, electrical industry, engineering, shipbuilding, motorways, for and other structures of common and special use.

The special form of sharp-edged cold rolled sections were also developed. They have some advantages with regard to cold rolled ones.

The advantages of cold rolled profiles with regard to hot rolled ones are:

  • hot rolled profiles have lesser weight at the same dimensions and for that reason they are cheaper
  • the tolerances of side and leg edges are narrower
  • they are more easily cut and perforated …
  • they have better weldability even with modern automatic welding procedures
  • they have better surface quality and for that reason better base for protection coatings
  • structures made of these sections are lighter, finer and cheaper

We can also do some service activities, such as:

  • cutting to precise ordered length
  • welding of sections intended for special purposes
  • perforation of sections
